Kyi Kyi Aye is currently Senior Tourism Advisor at Myanmar Tourism Federation as well as the National Project Coordination of the Entrepreneurship and MSME Support in Tourism at ILO.
She was born in Myanmar and educated overseas. Having received BA (Political Science Honors) from Lady Sri Ram College, Delhi University and Masters in Political Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, she was in the government service at the Ministry of Education as a Senior Teacher and retired as a Director from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in 2008. She also continued service to the Ministry as the Consultant and Expert for two years in succession, after which, from 2011 till today, has been contributing her expertise in tourism development and management as the National Consultant in the international development projects particularly at policy level in coordination with the government and the private sector. To date, she has been actively involved in the formulation of the Responsible Tourism Policy, Community Involvement in Tourism Policy, Myanmar Tourism Master Plan, Myanmar Ecotourism Policy and Management Strategy, Capacity Building and HRD in Tourism and the follow up activities.
She has kept up her network in the tourism activities within the framework of the CLMV, GMS, ASEAN; and has yearly participated in ASEAN Tourism Forum, Mekong Tourism Forum, UNWTO and PATA in events internationally as well as strategically coordinating the tourism development in Myanmar.
